semantic advertising solution takes another top honour, following its recognition at the IAB’s Innovation Awards

London, December 8, 2008 – ad pepper media has just won E-consultancy’s ‘Innovation in Online Advertising’ award with the SiteScreen Network, its pre-emptive solution for ad misplacements.

Judges at the awards, run by the UK’s leading online publisher of best practice internet marketing reports and research, included the head of consumer marketing at Google. They selected SiteScreen for its unique ability to protect brand reputations online.

The SiteScreen Network performs instant semantic analyses of web pages where display campaigns are due to be placed. If pages are judged unsuitable for a brand to appear on because they contain objectionable content in any of twelve categories*, the ad is blocked from appearing. HBOS, Bernard Matthews, Visa and Rackspace are amongst the first brands to benefit from the solution.

SiteScreen is powered by patented semantic analysis technology (the ‘Sense Engine™’) which was developed by one of the world’s leading linguists, Professor David Crystal. It determines the subject matter of a Web page with an unprecedented degree of accuracy, based on several years of work to understand the meanings and ambiguities of language.
